David Abrams is the President and Co-founder of the LuxeGroup of industry leading salons. His expertise as a haidresser has grown out of a 25 year love affair with education and constant improvement. In his time in the industry David has inspired thousands from the platform to backstage, from behind the camera to in the classroom. He has headed and created educational programs for 3 major organizations and has been a Creative and Artistic Director for over 15 Los Angeles salons.
David has produced countless photo shoots, fashion shows, stage performances and educational events as well as aided many fellow salon owners in transforming lackluster salons into world class industry leaders. He helps lead the LuxeGroup’s elite team to continue to be called upon by major beauty brands to lead educational training experiences, motivational talks, and business symposiums around the globe as well as New York Fashion Week and cornering the market for hairstyling at Los Angeles’ Fashion Week.
Together with family and staff, David and his partner Jason Lara travel the world in the never ending pursuit of all things beautiful, where they and their team are enriched by world class education and enough career enhancing inspiration to last a lifetime.
Never stop learning is the mantra that is imbedded in the DNA of his core philosophy: “Do the right thing for the right reason every single time.” His pioneering philosophies are the founding principles for what has made the LuxeGroup among the most influential salon organizations in Los Angeles.
Lauren Sill graduated from UCLA in Psychology, only to realize she craved a more creative and social job. She received her initial education at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, giving her a strong foundation in the principles of cut and color. Continuing her training at Luxelab, she found a family, freedom to grow as an artist, and encouragement to share her love for hair with those around her as a Master Stylist and Educator.
As a cut and color Educator at Luxelab, she realized how much she loves nurturing development in others, and as a result her own work has grown in the process. Becoming a Haigo Artist for Shu Uemura and a TECH artist for Kerastase, where she’s had the opportunity to teach all over the country and work behind the scenes of New York Fashion Week for Jason Wu, Marchesa, Joseph Altuzarra, The Row, Theyskin’s Theory, and more, Lauren’s diverse experience and mastery of her craft makes her an expert in her field.
As much as she loves doing creative work outside of the salon, Lauren loves working closely with her clients. She especially enjoys working on creative/natural highlighting and short creative women’s hair, as well as creating intricate braided or bridal/red carpet looks.
Before becoming one of Luxelab’s newest additions, Mel spent close to a decade working alongside some of New York City’s top stylists and educators in downtown Manhattan. While working as a full time stylist, Mel made advanced education her priority as both an avid student and a top educator. She continuously attended advanced technique classes at the L’Oreal Soho Academy, Redken Exchange, and Dop Dop Academy and was the Director of Design Education at her NYC salon.
A low-maintenance girl herself, Mel strives to explore the perfect combination of interest and ease with her clients’ hair – creating beautiful cuts, colors, and styles that work with her clients’ hair, not against it. Whether your hair is long and layered, soft and curly, or short and textured Mel will find the optimal look and teach you how to achieve it through hair how-to’s, mini blow-dry classes, and in depth product recommendations.
Mel’s collegiate art background allows her a more comprehensive approach to haircuts and color that translates seamlessly into her current obsession: balayage.
